Creative Services Manager

Castle Rock, CO

REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Essential

  • Optimize and manage creative resources (internal team members and external resources) workflow by forecasting creative staffing needs for all print, digital, photography, video and audio projects.
  • Proactively develop, train and motivate a group of skilled creative professionals while contributing to a positive team culture
  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects and business development activities as they relate to resourcing
  • Monitor day-to-day project activities and resourcing, identifying potential instances of under/over utilization and actively work to address and solve
  • Prioritize assignments, assign creative staffing and track individual creatives’ contributions to the organization while keeping the team on track and highly motivated
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, cross-functional requestors and creative team to communicate timing, scope, needs and priority changes, and ensure positive workflow
  • Manage assigned projects from start to finish to ensure successful completion on deadline and budget
  • Schedule all creative meetings and work with producers to monitor schedules and project needs
  • Manage the development of creative briefs when needed for projects. Review and provide feedback on projects to ensure alignment with creative briefs throughout production process.
  • Provide and maintain resource status working with designers and coordinators to provide accurate updates of resource needs
  • Keep project and staffing status reports (Smartsheets) current
  • Consistently monitor and review internal systems for greater efficiency, higher productivity workflow and output
  • Collaborate with creative, marketing, sales and executive management leaders and peers to develop and strengthen creative strategy
  • Maintains Creative staff results by coaching, counseling, corrective action and resolving issues; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; providing timely feedback to team members
  • Practices all elements Situational Self-Leadership with team members
  • Ensures team members understand and follow company guidelines
  • Reports team member time for payroll purposes

Marginal

  • Design and create marketing projects as needed according to volume of work, priorities and deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT:

  • Computers, phones

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • Expert knowledge of print and digital graphic design principles
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software – especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
  • Familiarity with project management software (Smartsheets) and Microsoft Office
  • Design knowledge for packaging, catalog and digital requirements
  • Project Management skills helpful
  • Agency experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of graphic design experience working in an agency or corporate creative department required
  • Minimum 2 years staff supervision, training and management experience required
  • Experience working with graphic designers to develop designs that achieve the best results for the company

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design or related area or experience in lieu of degree required
