SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Essential

  • Manages the Certcapture process with AvaTax Software.
  • Reconciles tax G/L accounts to AvaTax.
  • Proactively monitors AvaTax for compliance issues and approaching Nexis limits for each state.
  • Evaluates customer credit holds for sales orders.
  • Provides G/L support for specific assigned accounts through journal entries to reclass appropriately.
  • Administer timely and accurate basic home rule sales/use tax returns on the appropriate Mth/Qtr/Yr cycle without assistance and properly prepare supporting documents.
  • Communicates directly and professionally with taxing authorities and resolves basic tax requests.
  • Manages W9 tax process for A/P and A/R.

Marginal

  • Posts customer deposits, ACH transactions, and wire transfers to Odoo.
  • Applies credit/debit memos to customer accounts.
  • Assists with other areas of accounting as required.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Working knowledge of sales/use tax at a city and state level of reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and credit hold process.
  • Knowledge of sales tax laws.
  • Familiarity with W9 process.
  • Detail oriented and handles difficult situations with diplomacy.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of multi-state sales and use tax experience.
  • Experience with Avalara preferred.
  • Experience with Odoo preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include advanced levels of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communications.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation and 3-5 years of related work experience.

 This is not a remote position.

Pay Range $21.00 to $24.00
