Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator helps maintain a secure and well-functioning work environment. They are responsible for performing regular, building safety and security inspections, and maintenance of all equipment (building and Production). They also coordinate with external vendors such as uniform services, contractors, and inspectors. The successful candidate should be well organized and able to prioritize multiple issues.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Essential
- Inspect and maintain building and facilities for safety and security issues
- Monitor, maintain, and test fire safety equipment, devices, and alarms
- Organize and keep records of equipment and preventive maintenance schedules
- Receive bids and coordinate outside services within budgetary guidelines
- Monitor activity that occurs outside of the building (e.g., waste disposal, recycling, snow removal) and back up as needed
- Respond to urgent maintenance calls
- Oversee and monitor contractors while they are on site
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including acting as a member of the safety committee
- Support Production with the design and building of fixtures as needed
- Update the Production Manager and Operations Manager on a regular basis
- Advise employees on equipment safety
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
- Basic machine and woodworking skills
- Basic HVAC, electrical and plumbing skills
- Familiar with OSHA guidelines
- Familiar with building codes
- Safety conscious
- Manual dexterity
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with team members and vendors
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to climb and work from ladders
- Detail oriented and ability to organize tasks
- Demonstrates effective oral communication skills
- Demonstrates initiative and motivation
- Handles difficult situations with diplomacy
EDUCATION:
- 1-2 years related vocational training or three years related work experience or suitable combination of both
Pay Range $20.00 to $25.00 per hour DOE
